VGGS is a community that promotes the Christian faith in the Anglican tradition. The chaplaincy department enjoys operating in a magnificent Bethel Chapel at the heart of the school.
The chaplain leads worship, Christian Union and pastoral care, and walks with students through the ordinary and the difficult moments of school life. On Candidates' Prayer Day each candidate receives a new Bible from the BOM Chairman.

VGGS is a girls' boarding school. The boarding section provides a safe, orderly and homely environment in which students live, study and grow together through the term.
Our serene environment offers conditions conducive to learning for students and staff alike, with boarding staff on hand around the clock.
The catering department prepares balanced, varied meals for the whole school community, working to clear standards of nutrition, hygiene and food safety.
Meal times are also community times: the dining hall is where houses, year groups and staff meet daily.

VGGS is proud to be recognised as a co-curricular giant in Kenya. The Department of Co-curricular Activities runs a full calendar of clubs, sports and societies that help students discover and develop their talents.
Our Robotics Club trains every Tuesday from 4:00 to 5:30 PM under a professional trainer, covering programming and mechanics for beginners and experienced students alike.
Leadership is practised, not just taught. Student leaders carry real responsibility for the daily life of the school and work closely with staff and the Dean of Students.
Our vision is that every girl leaves VGGS well equipped to become an exceptional leader in whatever field she chooses to enter.

Mentorship is a practice highly esteemed by the girls of VGGS. The programme began in 2015 and has run ever since, pairing students with staff and visiting mentors.
It complements our guidance and counselling services, which prioritise students' emotional and mental wellbeing alongside their academic progress.
