TECHNICAL AND APPLIED SCIENCES DEPARTMENT
This is a vibrant department that comprises the following seven subjects in the 844 curriculum: Business Studies, Computer Studies, Home Science, Agriculture, Music, Art and design, and French.
In Form 1, Computer Studies is compulsory for all. The other six are optional, and a learner may choose any one according to their interest. In form 2, the learner chooses only one technical subject to proceed with to K.C.S.E.
In the CBC curriculum design, the same department offers the following learning areas: pre-technical studies, Agriculture & Nutrition, Creative Arts & Sports, Computer studies and French.

Vanessa Grant Girls’ School is highly endowed with resources for technical subjects and all other areas of learning. There is a well-furnished ICT laboratory with adequate computers for all learners, a home science Complex equipped with Sewing machines, cookers, refrigerators and other small equipment, a Music room with a variety of music instruments, and spacious French and Art & Design rooms to allow creativity and imagination.
These facilities immensely boost the performance of learners, with the department posting the highest mean scores in the school over time.
