Everyone needs to be guided and mentored to be a better version of themselves. VGGS, in collaboration with Dandelion Africa, has had 45 girls trained annually, since 2015. From these trainings, the girls become mentors to their peers and make use of the skills acquired to train others, with discipline being a key factor.
The VGGS mentors pay visits to schools within Rongai and Mogotio and mentor standard seven and eight girls. During these mentorship programs, the girls are encouraged to study hard, have self-confidence and pursue higher education despite the many challenges that surround them, including early marriages. Consequently, having posted exemplary results, some of the girls get a chance to be sponsored to join VGGS and later, tertiary institutions.
As the saying goes, Charity begins at home. The mentors play a key role in orienting the new students who join our school by guiding and mentoring them, making it easy for them to settle and adapt to the school system. This is in line with our leadership policy. Our girls portray leadership skills in every aspect of life. As they work closely with each other, Christian values are strongly inculcated since they treat each other as sisters. For all the members of the VGGS family, this is a home away from home.
